The
Royal Canadian Air Cadets is a federally sponsored program for young Canadian boys & girls ages 12 to 19 who are interested in participating in a variety of challenging and rewarding activities.
Cadets have an opportunity to learn practical leadership skills, public speaking techniques, self-discipline and instructional techniques not available through any other youth organization. These skills have proven to help cadets in their future careers in life by giving the confidence to approach and solve any problems they might face.
99 Lynx Squadron
is dedicated to the development of its cadets.
We provide a balanced training program for our cadets, allowing plenty of room to develop personal strengths within a team environment.
The Royal Canadian Air Cadets is a program jointly sponsored by the Department of National Defense and the Air Cadet League of Canada. This is not a recruiting organization and there is no obligation to join the military.
Cadets (boys and girls) ages 12-19 years of age are eligible to join. The uniforms cadets wear are provided at no expense. There are no fees/costs for the training conducted throughout the year, however, when the squadron conducts a year-end trip there is often a nominal fee to offset costs not covered by the Canadian Forces.
Air Cadets train weekly at 105 Wyandotte Street in topics like:
Typically on the first Tuesday of every month the cadets meet at ODAS (Orillia District Agricultural Society) Park when they hold their Commanding Officers Parade.
Many cadets have even earned their pilots licence at “no cost”.
