| | Looking for some serious FUN?
Orillia's 99 Lynx Air Cadets Squadron is looking for young people who want to do something different. If you are 12 or more years old, this might be for you. Uniforms and training are supplied free, and activities including gliding, summer courses, camping weekends, and more are usually free as well.
As you learn, you advance. Ranks are based on those of Canada's Air Force, and the program is run jointly by the Department of National Defence and the Air Cadet League of Canada.
The aims are leadership, citizenship, fitness, and an interest in Canada's aviation heritage and industry. If you have what it takes, you can train to be a glider or a power pilot, and earn your wings at no cost to you.
This is not a recruiting organization and there is no obligation to join the military.
Parents are required to help raise funds to cover activity costs that are not paid by DND. A $60.00 annual registration is assessed per Cadet. Assistance is available.
